Isle
of Wight is a very small Island in England.
Five of us started for the island
on 26th May 2001. We took a train to Portsmouth, and
then a ferry to reach the island. The ferry travel
was just a 20min one.
We went to Flamingo Park, full
of flamingos, ducks, swans, penguins and many other
birds and animals. All are well tamed and surprisingly
they're not afraid of humans. It was nice visting
such innocent beings.
Then we went to Godshill where
the model of the entire village was built and kept
for exhibition. The workmanship was very nice and
natural.
Next we went to Sandown where we
booked for a single night's stay in a B&B. There
we went on a walk along the coastal side and we
reached the Sandown pier. There we played
some games (sort of gambling) - we need to put coins
in a glass case inside of which the coins will be
pushed to a slit from where we can collect it. I
was lucky enough to get 6 coins back when I tried
the first time. Then everyone tried and we all kept
loosing money. We were wise enough to stop with
a small lose and walked away. While we strolled
back, we could see people fishing.
We were tempted by an nother game
to knock 3 glasses off the table with a popgun with
three chances. If the first shot itself is successful
, hen we are given a chance to choose a soft toy
of bigger size. If it's knocked in second shot then
a medium size toy can be chosen otherwise a key
ring will be given. One of my friends tried and
got a key ring. Then I tried and to my shock/surprise
all the glasses got knocked off the table in the
first shot and I got 'winnie the pooh' (a bigger
one) and my other friends also tried and got some
toys. It was real fun. We went back to the hotel
with big smiles and had a very good sleep.
