BOX news!
Longest
Bench? Err
NO! |
We
saw a bench at "Promenade de la Treille" in
Geneva, which is claimed to be the World's Longest bench.
However, we have some points that are contrary to the
claim.
- The
"bench" is not made of single piece of wood
but a collection of benches. Then, how come it could
be the longest?
- Probably,
it could be the oldest one in the world since they say
that the bench came in to existence several years back.
- I
read somewhere that Barcelona too boasts of a "World's
longest bench". Obviously some one is wrong. Who
would give a final ruling?
- An
interesting comment heard there: "Is it longer
than the REPS bench?"

Geneva
MASALA!! |
Apparently
some one had told somebody that food would be a problem
at Geneva on a holiday. Taking cue from this, we embarked
on the idea of preparing Chapathis & Masala for lunch.
Before taking them down some one else told that due to 'Foot
& Mouth' disease outbreak at UK, food items are not
allowed from UK in to any other country. As the suspicion
lasted till we reached Geneva whether they would or wouldn't
allow the food items, apparently no one checked for it.
But
everything went in a whiff of air when it was known that
all along we had carried only the Masala and the Chapathis
were conveniently forgotten at home.

Gandhi
in Swiss |
In
many places in Geneva, we saw posters of Mahatma Gandhi, Mother
Teresa etc. along with some German graffiti. I didn't get
what they are. Probably propaganda material of some political
party! |
