The Tow 'I's:
One 'I' relates to the self and that is selfish
- ego-full. The other 'I' relates to the Self -
the essence of the Lord in us. That is selfless,
ego-less, and divine. [Lord does it all. That does
not feed the ego.]
Other languages also use similar words for the two
'I's: In Hindi, there are two words: "aatam"
and "Aataman". The former refers to the ego-full
self and the later to the essence of Lord within,
called soul. In Urdu, we have similar two words:
'khud' and 'khuda'. The former refers to the self
and the later to the Self - realized soul.
Power of God Within:
When Sant Rajinder Singh (
http://www.sos.org) reefers to "Power
of God within", he refers to Self. He bows with
folded hands to that Self.
Lord Krishna : When Lord Krishna says, "He
did not eat the butter", He was referring to the
Self. When he says, "He did eat the butter", he
was referring to the self. That divine can manifest
both the self and the Self in one body with ease
and at the same time. I suppose that the saints
can do that to. Can they do that with the same ease?
Geeta and Bible : The same goes for the Geeta's
divine dialogue. Lord Krishna uses 'I' to refer
to the 'Self' in most places. The same is true about
the 'Bible'. I doubt that Jesus meant 'self' by
'I'.
How does one 'I' become the other 'I'? The
'Self' becomes 'self' by association with Kal and
Kal's intention to grow his empire. The 'self' is
going to become 'Self' by disassociation with 'Kal'
and association with someone or something that is
beyond the realm of 'Kal'. That something is the
saints and their divine message - the holy names.
Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon
Ji (Radha Soami Satsang - Beas)said something
like:
We are in this world because we have been thinking
(doing simran) of this world. We will go out of this world by doing of simran of
'beyond this world'." [11-Jul-1997, NY]
He further said something like:
Our mind works by association. When we do simran,
we think of the saint who gave us the names
and will go where He is. [Jul-1998, Honolulu,
Hawaii]
SUMA Ching Hai (
http://www.godsdirectcontact.org) says
something like:
We are in this world because of our own desires.
We are the princes in the kingdom of God. We
can go any place where we desire to go.
Interpretation:
To go beyond the realm of Kal - 'self' to 'Self',
we need to do simran of the holy names given by a saint who is
beyond Kal.
Hazur Maharaj Charan Singh Ji (Radha Soami
Satsang - Beas)used to say, "We are tied to a bulldozer,
we are going if we wish to go and if we do not wish
to go. He was referring to us being tied to the
Lord through the holy names.
Sant Rajinder Singh Ji said, "Sooner or later
we are all going home. Why don't we go home sooner?"
[2-Sep-2000, NY] He was referring to that this creation
originated from Him and is going to merge into Him
one day. But we don't need to suffer the separation
from the father any longer.
Message: The trick to change the 'selfish
I' to the 'empowered I' is the 'Simran of the holy
names'. It is so simple, just try it and you will
find it harder than it appears.
