2Sa 22:31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is
proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
Time and time again the Word of the Lord is proven through modern Archaeology, and Science. Only in this modern day have we learned from these scientific communities, that the bible written over four thousand years ago by men inspired of God, could have had this kind of knowledge that still holds true with every person, place or thing named in the word of God, amazing. There are Scientific laws of quarantine in the bible that God laid down for Moses to follow, There are tiny little germs that until the late1800 did we know that these germs even existed. We know through Science that the great flood of the bible was also 100% true based on evidence of a crust layer of mud found all over the world. So our belief or faith in the word of God is really based on sold facts not some blind faith, that our forefathers had to go through, these great men and women of faith listed in the book of Hebrews chapter 11 did not have a canon of scriptures or a great Scientific community, to help them prove the word of God as we have today. It seems we as Christians still go through very rough times in every area of our lives. This is were we must hold firm on the truth of Gods word that we have in our hearts, In times of trouble the bible says not to throw away your confidence, for there is a great
reward for those who stand on the word of truth.
I know there are times of difficulty, sometimes they aren't. Sometimes times are easy, sometimes they aren't. "For richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health." Sometimes things are the way they are, sometimes things aren't what
the seem.
Paul, when he was traveling -- telling others the good news that the Messiah had indeed come to bring salvation -- was stoned and left for dead, beat, mocked, shipwrecked, imprisoned and finally beheaded. Sometimes things are difficult.
Peter, who had a fiery temper, came to understand the value of holding both his tongue and his peace. We see it in 1 Peter 3:9 - "Not rendering evil for evil, nor railing for railing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing." Sometimes things have to be learned.
Mary, who at the age of fourteen and still a virgin, found herself pregnant - to the scorn of others - and about to give birth to the Son of God Himself. She traveled miles on a donkey's back when she was 9 months pregnant, to deliver the Promised One in a lowly stable, and laid Him in a feed trough. Sometimes things aren't what they seem.
A messenger told David, when he was tending his sheep, that Samuel wanted to see him. Upon arriving at the feet of the prophet of God, he discovered that God had called him to be the king of Israel. Sometimes things are strange.
God calls each of us to a purpose. Sometimes in reaching His purpose, things happen that don't seem quite right to us. God uses the simple and profound things in life to attain His goals. He uses hard situations for His glory. The only thing that is promised to us by Him is that He will never leave us or forsake us. We can always count on that.
Let us pray,
Father, sometimes I want to give up. Sometimes I can't see your hand in times when it gets difficult. Sometimes I wonder what is going on? Thank You, God that you promised that all things work together for good to those who love you and who are called according to your purposes. Help me, please, to remember that your purposes are the goal that I need to be striving for. Even when it's hard, even when it's strange, even when things aren't what they seem. Please, help me to learn to trust your hand in my life. I love You, Lord.
