Q
Baba,
You have quoted in one of your speeches that Ramakrishna Paramahamsa
had cried to Kàli
ma two times: once for Her darshan and the second time to grant
him four noble disciples.
What kind of disciple did Ramakrishna Paramahamsa think
of when he cried to Goddess Kàli
the second time?
The
first time Ramakrishna wept, it was for Kàli’s Darshan. Once he
attained The Darshan, and after his thoughts synchronized on Kàli’s
Lotus Feet, he would have sought mellowed disciples. And his tears
testify that none of the disciples who sought him matched his
wavelength.
He
was waiting for the cream of disciples. That is the implied meaning.
He was not satisfied with the thronging crowd of disciples. He
was beseeching Kàli
to send him the right disciple who was evolved or rather fit enough
to be enlightened.
Ramakrishna,
being a self-realized soul, would have found it difficult to tolerate
persons seeking material pleasures. He would have pleaded with
Kàli
for a spiritual seeker, someone seeking the Permanent Bliss of
the Lord’s Feet rather than the illusory pleasures of the transient
world.
