Have these as
your fundamental plans across all your academic
years:
1. Study well
2. Be physically
fit
3. Be a Good
citizen
4. Nurture and
Develop skills.
Examine your
personality to monitor your progress. If you do
not find any improvement, you have wasted one
more year. If you have become a better person
this year than you were during the previous
years, then that is progress. That is the only
growth; that is the only revolution. If you have
not progressed but deteriorated, then something
is wrong and you have to plan and improve at the
earliest.
There can be
three outcomes: (a) stagnation (b)
degradation (c) progress. Obviously option
(c), i.e. progress is the desired outcome.
If you are good,
God will protect you. If you are always good,
and remembering God all the time and thanking
Him for the good, He has done to you, then
whatever be the ordeal you face in life, He will
help you overcome it. Thank God for all His
blessings and strive to be good children,
God—loving children; children whom God will be
proud of. Then whatever happens you will be
protected.
You are entering a New Year.
What must be your aim?
1) Study well.
Take a resolution to concentrate and study
well. Improve your learning skills and attempt
to score 100% in everything you do.
2) Improve on your physical
fitness. Exercise - - do some jogging, yoga
etc. Keep yourself clean and hygienic.
Develop better civic sense.
3) Be a good
citizen. How will you become a good citizen?
By looking after your school; caring for your
classroom; being clean. You should be calm and
obedient children. Be well behaved so
that you earn a good name for your family,
class, school and country.
In the year 2005,
I should see you as a better person. Better
person - - if you replace the ‘E’ with an ‘I’,
what happens? You will end up as a bitter
person. Better person is loved; a bitter person
becomes a burden to society.
(4) Nurture
your talents and develop more skills. This
school has plenty of opportunities; it is up to
you to make use of them. You can learn music - -
vocal and instrumental, dance, excel in sports
and games. You should be able to balance
yourself in life. Study well and focus on extra
curricular activities as well.
Six to eight
hours is sufficient rest time for maintaining a
healthy body. That leaves you with 18 hours per
day. Out of those 18 hours, you spend totally 8
hours in the school. You have 10 hours at your
disposal. You can make effective use of that - -
learn something new, and read a lot of books. If
you waste time, the lost time cannot be
retrieved. Already one year has gone; it is no
longer at your disposal. Lost is lost forever.
This year will also roll by as preceding years
have done. So, plan and make the best use of
this year.
Every minute, you
should be useful to somebody.
