Seems Vijay is not interested in giving a blockbuster
and not ready to try anything new. After an action packed 'Bagavathi'
, Vaseegara is light subject with comedy and sentiment ( minimum
guarantee?).
Nasser and Manivannan are thick friends.Sneha
is the daughter of the former and Vijay the so of the later.Sneha
gets engaged to an NRI (Kamalesh),when Manivannan sends jobless
Vijay to Nasser. Sneha forgetting her 'bond'
,falls for Vijay . Following incidents and a happy ending is the
rest. The story is set on a comedy background.Vijay plays 'Boopathi'
and has tried to make it different from his usual roles. And as
usual he dances, fights and performs comedy with ease.
In many shots,
Sneha's make up does not seem natural. She has little to do in
the movie but has done it satisfactorily. " Enna thavira
evalayavathu parthey, konnuruven" she says this often
to Vijay with a cute expression- any guy would fall for it!
Nasser plays
a normal farther and Manivannan- an abnormal father, getting alongside
Vijay in whatever mistakes he commits. Good selection of cast.
Suhasini
comes as advice aunty and Pandiarajan a crack photographer.
Though both of them provide the turning point in the story, Suhasini
seem uninvolved and artificial.Vadivelu is the lead comedian
and gets along well with Vijay. Gayathri Jayaram plays
a similar role she did in 'April Mathathil' .
An engaged
girl falling for another guy is not new plot. We have already
seen it in 'Kathal Mannan'. Though the plots of most of the love
stories are the same, the difference is made in the way they are
presented. The direcotor seems to have relied on the 'Vijay factor'
rather than the screen play for the success of the movie. Screen
play is very flat and the dialogues fail to impress. A stereo
type climax at the railway station. (It's high time they think
of a different place)
Ordinay tunes and the background score do not help
the movie. Perhaps, the editor V.T.Vijayan left the job
to his assistants. The cinematography is fresh and fine. Generally,
the performance of the entire team seems shallow.
